Riff Racers

Riff Racers is the arcade racer I’m working on. I’m building tracks with shortcuts and jumps, and tuning how the karts handle.

Dedicated game site in development.

02 / The Studio

A solo studio.
Room for different games.

BrimFrame is an independent solo game studio by Daniel Schmid in Germany.

Riff Racers is where I’m starting. I chose the BrimFrame name so a future game could take a different direction.

03 / The Approach

What I try to get right.

Different kinds of games

I don’t want BrimFrame tied to one genre. Each game should use the style and mechanics that fit it.

Controls and clarity

The controls should feel good, and you should be able to tell what’s happening while you play. The visual style needs to help with that.

Respect for players

Your time matters. I want the menus to be easy to use and the games to be accessible. When something isn’t ready or doesn’t work yet, I’ll say so.

A scope I can manage

I make these games on my own. Every feature needs time to build, test and maintain, so I have to be careful about what I take on.

Riff Racers: The Road to the First Demo

I’m working towards a Riff Racers demo in December 2026. Here’s what I’m planning for the five tracks, 12 drivers and 12 karts, and what still needs work.
